Ismael Shaukat, MD

Born and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Shaukat graduated from Punjab Medical College at the University of the Punjab in Pakistan, and completed his residency and fellowship at the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey. He was inspired to become an oncologist after witnessing his uncle in the terminal stages of cancer, an experience that led to a strong desire to help others in their most difficult, trying times. Dr. Shaukat grew up on the East Coast, has studied in Pakistan, and even visited the pyramids in Egypt, but he finds the natural beauty of the Midwest second to none.

Dr. Shaukat loves to spend time with his family, and enjoys reading, going to the gym and riding his motorcycle. And, as much as he loves the Midwest, he does stay connected to his East Coast upbringing as a loyal fan of the New York Giants.

“My aim is to personalize cancer care through caring, understanding, and most importantly – compassion.”
