  • Provides leadership, clinical expertise and functional direction to team members in order to ensure the continuity of patient services. Serves as the expert resource and lead person within a service area. Works closely with the director/manager to plan, implement, and facilitate the work activity of the area to accomplish goals and objectives. Provides clinical support and direction to department personnel in the absence of the Department Director. Facilitates staff knowledge and adherence to patient care standards and clinical programs. Serves as department patient education resource.

    • Prepares monthly general and standard journal entries, financial statements and comparative

    reports, account reconciliations, and cost reports.

    • Assists independent auditors with interim and year-end audits and verifies accuracy of reports.
    • Prepares federal, state and other governmental reports such as annual tax returns, ERISA


    • Keeps informed of all government regulations and procedures affecting hospital finance and accounting procedures.
    • Maintains and reviews cost center and appropriation accounts, including trial balances, to verify accuracy with coding, classifying and posting.
    • Prepares reports related to recommended changes in data collection procedures.
    • Prepares reports of budget expenditures, revenues and account or fund balances.
    • Assists clerical employees with problems related to tracking and inputting data into proper accounting format.
    • Assists with payroll activities and resolves payroll problems.
    • Assists with the selection, training and performance evaluation of assigned staff.
    • Maintains strictest confidentiality.



    • Knowledge of accounting theory, principles and practices to identify and describe accounting systems and subsystems.
    • Knowledge of budgeting and of cost accounting principles.
    • Knowledge of research techniques to analyze data and make recommendations.
    • Knowledge of computer information systems and spreadsheets to present financial information.
    • Ability to analyze financial reports.
    • Ability to prepare statistical and narrative accounting reports.
    • Ability to perform mathematical computations accurately and quickly.
    • Ability to identify and compute ratios and percentages.
    • Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
    • Ability to communicate clearly.




    • Associates degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.;
    • Accounting experience in a health care organization preferred;
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field preferred.




    • Occasionally lift up 10 lbs. Rarely push/pull up to 25 pounds.
    • Regularly required to stand; sit; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; twist; bend; walk; use hand to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands, arms.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and to adjust focus.
    • Sit for prolonged periods of time.
    • Work is generally performed in an office setting; desk/cubicle with chair, computer and phone
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
    • This job operates in a health care setting. This role occasionally comes into contact with patients who may have a contagious illness.

  • The Patient Service Rep, while using an electronic medical record system, coordinates and facilitates the smooth, efficient and continuous flow of patients through the medical office setting.  Collaborates with members of the clinical care team to improve access, reduce backlog and minimize delays along the value stream of the patient encounter.  Works closely with patients and their families; many times serving as the patients’ first point of contact, while demonstrating outstanding focus on the patient as the primary customer.  Is skilled in multiple functions within the reception department, enabling cross coverage where required.  Can anticipate bottle-necks in patient flow and adjusts processes as necessary.  Listens with empathy and respect and is a skilled problem-solver. Works closely with leadership and the clinical team, to improve processes and enhance the patients’ experience.

  • Responsible for providing primary care services, including assessing and managing patients in the clinic following established standards and practices. This person performs and/or coordinates patient care in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers along the continuum of care. Demonstrates advanced practice skills through assessment, diagnosis and treatment of complex patients in area of an oncology specialty. Performance of work requiring advanced knowledge where discretion and judgment is utilized often.
