Dr. Alex Coffman’s path to becoming an oncologist is etched with a profound personal experience—when his grandfather passed from head and neck cancer. This became a driving force, leading him toward a career dedicated to oncology.
A first-generation college graduate and physician, he harbored a lifelong desire to be a physician, a calling that has filled his life with purpose.
Alex’s passion for conservation led him to Trinidad and Tobago. Engaged in a month-long project, he tagged giant leatherback turtles, tracked their migratory and breeding patterns, and protected them from poachers. This unique experience reflects his commitment to healing not only in the clinic but also in the broader context of environmental stewardship.
Alex admires his patients’ strength and perseverance which serves as a constant reminder of life’s priorities, inspiring him to navigate the complexities of cancer care with empathy and unwavering dedication.
